The Stages of Your Training and Set-up


Once again, welcome to the growing team of fp users! Below is a list of the items you will make your way through as you get up and running with your new system. Feel free to contact us at support@functionpoint any time if you have any problems or questions.

Staff Set-up and Optional Data Import.

    • The main administrator will be sent an e-mail with a username and password for the newly created fp system. It will be up to this person to enter all staff into the system (details on how to do this are linked here) Adding a Staff Member.
    • If you choose to have us import your contacts (clients, vendors, prospects etc.) and/or your phases/services into fp please fill out the Excel forms on the homepage of the help site. Staff can be included on the appropriate form should you choose to do this, but by providing them access right away you can ensure they have a system to log-in to while working through the training videos. Please ensure these are sent back to fp within 2 weeks of signing up.
    • If you choose to add contacts manually and use standard phases and services, you're ready to go!

Training

  • Please work through the videos in Units 1 through 4 to the left.
  • Once your team has watched the videos, a Q&A session is then booked with a Function Point trainer. This is when we can discuss the specifics around your company and clarify anything within your system.
  • Additional Q&A sessions can be set up with our training team at this time. This will be based on your needs as we will do what it takes to ensure you get up and running!
  • We will then book a meeting with the appropriate person on your team to go over the financial aspects of the system, including invoices, expenses and integration with your accounting software. At this point we will also work with you to ensure your accounts are set up properly within the system.
  • If you choose to work with either of fp's optional modules (the client portal and/or fp.Collaborate for online proofing) we will set up sessions for each of those components for the appropriate members of the team too.
Best Practices Review
  • After you're up and running we offer monthy Webinars and are also available to help you with your workflow processes and any further questions you may have.

***This schedule is very flexible and can be altered and customized to meet the specific needs and wants of your firm.  At any time, we can clear our your data and allow you to start from the beginning if you want to test your new system first.


The Function Point team is here to answer questions through your system deployment and beyond.

    • Your team's fp Prime is responsible for the deployment of your new system and involved in every step of the process. 
      • This person will also be the single point of contact to answer any questions or deal with any issues throughout the training and implementation of the system.
